Blue Nile is a mixed-use project located on the banks of the Blue Nile river in Khartoum, Sudan. Comprised of residential and commercial functions, the buildings organically rise out of the river banks, stepping back as they ascend, and are methodically sculpted to face each other. The result is a dynamic relationship between the buildings, the river, and their respective views.

Each volume is then treated with a parametric script, extending each floor as a continuous wrap-around balcony. In order to minimize solar heat gain in this extreme climate, the balconies are extended the greatest at the South, simultaneously performing as luxurious shading canopies.
