District O was designed to reimagine the Marassi Bay area through the implementation of a select series of goals guided by an avant-garde and sustainable vision within the heart of Dubai. The project follows Dubai’s 2040 ambition of becoming a 20 minute city, where residents can access their daily destinations within 20 minutes by foot or bicycle. Active mobility is one of the most critical components in creating healthy livable cities. Hence, urban mobility has become a key priority and factor in the design development.
District O will shift the primary mode of transportation away from cars and taxis in an aim to make walking, running and cycling the primary modes of transportation. The masterplan prioritizes optimizing the urban experience in Business Bay by providing extensive green areas, and a variety of social infrastructure and facilities for residents of the exclusive community on the watefront.
The floating promenade and urban park over the Business Bay Marina not only reimagines and activates the Bay, but also connects major luxury landmarks on either side, making it a hub for high-end living and destinations for all of its residents, tenants and guests. The masterplan includes residential buildings, offices, a beach club and yacht club
